Ian Samwell and Sir Cliff Richard Ian Samwell was the 'Father of British Rock'n'Roll,' the man who wrote Cliff Richard's first hit song, 'Move It.'

Before the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, this was the first rock'n'roll hit ever created in England. It launched Cliff Richard's super star career. And it opened some very important doors for every British artist who followed.

To quote Ian, "You couldn't kill this song with a stick," and Cliff has recorded it again in 2006, this time with Brian May of Queen on guitar.

Ian Samwell was also the 'Man who discovered America,' and produced their first album. Including such timeless songs as 'A Horse With No Name,' 'I Need You' and 'Sandman,' the America album launched another super star career.

As one of Great Britain's earliest independent producers Ian was also the first ever to record other important artists such as Georgie Fame, John Mayall, Small Faces and Aynsley Dunbar. He was once described as "the only known link between Neil Sedaka and Jerry Garcia."
