The last album Ian Samwell produced was Blonde on the Bayou by a brilliant Sacramento based band called The Beer Dawgs, lead by singer-songwriter Bob Pearce and guitarist Steve Wall.

Ian was a big fan of this hugely popular and award winning band for a long time, but it wasn't until 1999 that he connected with them in his role as producer.
The Dawgs were the last artists to benefit from Ian's mastery of the difference between making a great record and just recreating a live show, and they caught on real quick. All you have to do is listen once to hear how special that collaboration was.
The Dawgs have undergone some changes in October 2006. Bob Pearce is opening "Swamp" studio near Austin, Texas where he'll be recording
as "Slim Bawb." The Beer Dawgs plan to hold reunion gigs in Sacramento once or twice a year.
