Macspages. Ian 'Mac' McLagan has done and seen it all, and he tells about it with a wicked wit. He started out as one of the Small Faces, who became the Faces, the band where Rod Stewart became a star, and the list of people he's played and recorded with since then is astonishing - it includes The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt and Bob Dylan. He has also written the most honest and entertaining rock'n'roll insider book I've ever read, It's called All The Rage. This is a great site!

The Beer Dawgs. The name suggests their commitment to fun, but the seriously special songs and performances of this award winning Sacramento based band deliver that and a whole lot more. Ian was a fan, and the last album he produced was their excellent Blonde on the Bayou.

Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers. More Sacramento friends of global repute. Mick loves the blues.

Bob Cheevers. "I don't know if these stories are true, but they happened to me," Bob says. None of us would be a reliable witness, but Ian was there for quite a few of them, and so was I. The music is true, whether from the deep south or the far west. Bob is an engaging singer, songwriter and guitarist. Check it out.

Mumbo Gumbo. To quote Ian, this is, "One of the very best bands in these parts (Northern California) and one of the best un-signed bands in America.  They are enormously talented, great song-writers and a whole lotta fun.  If you go see them you better bring your dancin' shoes."

Kirby Shields. This is a powerfully talented young singer/songwriter whose emerging career captured Ian's interest and collaboration. Check him out; he's going places.

Michael Snow. A highly talented friend of Ian's from way back, Michael makes music which has been characterized as being from "where the Liffey meets the Mersey," blending Celtic rhythms with a British pop feel. Now based in Nashville, Michael is a respected musician, producer and writer of songs such as the Georgie Fame/Alan Price hit Rosetta.

The Official Cliff Richard Website. What more need be said?

The Sir Cliff Richard Home Page. Randal Sheppard created the first and most highly respected Cliff Richard site on the web. He calls it the real cliff richard page. Check it out and see if you don't agree.

The Shadows. David Dixon maintains an excellent, truly comprehensive and regularly updated site for the Shadows. If you're a fan and don't already know about this one, do yourself a favour.

Jet Harris. The official website for the Shadows original bassist, quite possibly the first person in England ever to explore the electric bass guitar. It features history, discography, and even some recent performance video.

venturahighway.com. The official America site. What more need be said?

America Fans Home Page. This is the most comprehensive and up-to-date page honoring the band America. Maintained with real dedication by Steve Lowry, it features concert schedules, lyrics, guitar chords, sound clips, chat, and more; and it is host to this next site

America Revisited. John Corbett's incredibly detailed 8 part history of America. This is quite possibly the best history of any band to be found anywhere on the net. In early 2004 John posted the unedited text of an interview he had with Ian back in 1998. It is superb. I offer him my heartfelt appreciation. It may be the last time I will ever hear Ian Samwell's voice. By all means read the whole history, but the interview will be found in the epilog.

danpeek.com. Dan Peek is the one of America's three founding members who went his own way. His official site features an autobiography which is being presented in weekly installments and which offers some excellent insights into America's early history. Dan's work since leaving America is also worthy of your notice.
